Scotland based · Open to opportunities worldwide

Hi, I’m
Charlotte.

I’ve just graduated from the University of St Andrews (76%) with a degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences. During my studies, I worked on superyachts as a stewardess. I’m now looking to bring these experiences together as I start my professional career.

What past oceans
can tell us.

I used fossil-shell chemistry to reconstruct North Atlantic temperatures and ocean chemistry during the Eocene, a period of warmer global climate. These past conditions help us understand the ocean’s long-term response to rising CO₂, while recognising that today’s changes are happening differently.

I received 90% for my dissertation poster presentation, presenting my findings.

Kilimanjaro
and beyond.

I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro and raised £3,000 for sanitation projects in Bomet, Kenya.

Away from work, I love going to the gym and keeping active. I’ve run the Loch Ness Marathon and several half marathons, including the Singapore Trail Half and Edinburgh Movember Half.

Tennis has been a big part of my life: I captained my school team, represented the West of Scotland, played in the university A squad and volunteered as a youth tennis coach. I’ve also been vice-captain of my school’s first hockey team and the university fourth team. I enjoy the teamwork and responsibility that come with those roles, as well as travelling and exploring somewhere new.

Volunteering and travel

Helped organise a school charity quiz night for a school in Uganda, working with local venues and businesses to secure prizes. I’ve also travelled independently through Southeast Asia and Australia and explored New Zealand during my study abroad semester.

What I’m
looking for.

I’m looking for an early-career role where I can learn, contribute and build my professional future. I’m open to opportunities in any field, in Scotland or further afield, with a particular interest in the areas below.

01

Consultancy

Environmental consultancy with practical impact.

02

Energy & renewables

Supporting the transition to cleaner energy.

03

Sustainability & climate

Bringing environmental science into yachting and beyond.
